Hello again crafty friends!

Today I want to share these adorable DIY holiday gift boxes fashioned from, you guessed it- PAPER!

With the W R Memory Keepers 123 punch board (yes, I cheated on my Silhouette…) these came together in a snap. Also, they are as customizable as you want. I added coordinating tags to each gift box, but you could simply put a bow on it and call it a day! I’ve included a list of the supplies I used so you can give it a try! I hope this project inspires you to create your own DIY holiday paper gift boxes, because the holidays will be here and gone before you know it!

I loved making these for the holidays! My crafting time is limited as a new mommy. If I find the time to make something it better serve a purpose! These will house wonderful gifts for family, so I can check that off my never ending to do list!

 

Gift Box Tags-

So, I sort of did this project backwards. I was playing around with some new stamps and  some long forgotten craft supplies and created the ornament tags first. And I loved them, but had no idea what to do with them. For my stamping, scrapping, and card making friends out there here’s the itemized breakdown.

For those who think- NOPE, “Ain’t nobody got time fo THAT,” feel free to skip down to Gift Box Assembly! 😉

I used the Jolly Sentiments stamp set from Kaisercraft, a red rubber ornament stamp I had in my stash, and Stazon Jet Black Ink. I then watercolored the images using Perfect Pearls mixed with water and my favorite Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I used my Crop-A-Dile tool to secure some silver eyelets to the top.

For the coordinating tags underneath I used a whole BUNCH of stuff including my Silhouette machine, Versamark Ink, various embossing powders!

Gift Box Assembly-

Ah, the heart of the project. Fast. Easy. Awesome. And good news for the more casual crafter, I only used three supplies for this part!

• 4 Pieces of 12” x 12” card stock.

• We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Tool

• Glue stick or Tape Runner

Aaaand that’s it. Really!

I searched through my ridiculously large paper stash and found the perfect colors and patterns to coordinate with the tags.  A normal person would pick their card stock paper first. Be that person, it’s easier. 😉

I am in love with the 123 Punch Tool. Don’t get me wrong, I am still a Silhouette Cameo fangirl, but this punch was a time saver and quite a bit cheaper than a machine if you are a beginner paper crafter. I followed the super easy instructions in the provided project booklet and created the largest boxes possible with 12” x 12” paper- which resulted in 4”x4” boxes.

These will be the perfect size for the gifts we are giving this year!

If you are a more visual learner, I found the best playlist of project examples using this tool on YouTube! The variety of paper goodies this tool can make is drool worthy.

Once I punched and scored all the lines, I folded my paper, got out my glue stick, and went to town! All four boxes took 20 minutes to make. Total! My favorite part is that the punch creates corner flaps that keep the boxes closed without adhesive!

I finished up the boxes with some coordinating holiday ribbon and they are ready for gifting! This project was not only fun to create but a great way to reintroduce myself to my love of paper crafting after a long hiatus while I’ve been busy momming!
