Hello!
This week I wanted to share one of my recent crafty endeavors- a gold, fall inspired thank you tag! Personalized tags are a great way to dress up gifts for the holidays! With Thanksgiving on the way, a tag like this would be the perfect way to adorn that holiday feast food offering, or bottle of wine.
In the spirit of giving, I’ve also included for free, the “Thank you” cut file for your crafty own collection!
This project was inspired by a Heidi Swapp Wanderlust Tag pack I picked up on clearance at the craft store. Although there was only one tag like this in the bunch- I just had to have the gold geometric pattern!
I cut thin strips of Silhouette Printable Gold foil to line the edges of the tag. Because- gold, why else?
First, I created a sunset ombre for the background by lightly sponging on some dye based ink in brown and orange. I faded the ink and left the kraft paper brown show through on the top.The gold foil already on the tag resisted the ink, so it turned out beautifully.
Then, I used my Silhouette Cameo and PixScan mat to cut the leaves and trees out of leftover card stock pieces and more gold foil.
I inked the trees and leaves some, and sharpened the details with my Distress Markers, and a white gel pen. I also curled the edges of the leaves to make them more dimensional.
I layered the pieces on my tag, and glued bits of gold confetti with the leaves at the bottom for more shine, and of course, GOLD.
To make “Thank you” stand out, I used some extra pieces of card stock as a base, and embossed the paper with a fun, geometric, honeycomb folder that was similar to the design on the tag.

This tag is beautiful! It is such a wonderful mix of elegance and whimsy. I love how you added dimension at the bottom by making the leaves layered. I adore the metallic touches you gave it and the whole thing transports me to somewhere magical!
