Embossed Wood Name Tags

Hello to all and Happy Holidays!

I have a quick project to share with you before the holiday season is officially over. This DIY is perfect for last minute gifts, ornaments, place settings… anything! This year I bought new stockings for the family since we have our new addition. <3 They are knit and fuzzy, but don’t exactly have a convenient place to put our names on to them. My solution? Embossed Wood Name Tags!

Embossing is a simple but beautiful way to personalize your holiday decorations. Maybe you have some wood slice ornaments for the tree that need some sparkle, or you would like some show stopping place settings for the holiday table. With only a few supplies you can create your own personalized wood tags, and those supplies will last you for many more projects to come!

Library Display: Colorful Clouds & Raindrops

Hello and Happy Spring!

Despite the wintry forecast in my area, I recently completed a display for my library that exudes spring-  Colorful Clouds & Raindrops! This display is perfect for a library, but could also be a great project for party decorations, or a child’s room! I used my trusty Silhouette Cameo, of course, and have broken down the process for you. I’ve also included my cut files so you can get to crafting without delay!

Library Approved Halloween Book Crafts

Hello again!

Fall is definitely in full swing and Halloween is on the way! If you are still looking for some inspiration for crafts this season, just look to books! Working in a library I see plenty of unsavory print materials that take the long ride in the D-I-S-C-A-R-D bin- to that quaint farm far away where other books roam and run free… 😉 . But what if they could have another purpose? A second life? This Halloween season, grab a book or two from your local Good Will to create your Halloween crafts. “Check out” these Library Approved Halloween Book Crafts from around the web!

Library Display: Banned Books Week

Hello!

This week is Banned Books Week (September 27th through October 3rd) and I am excited to share with you the banners that I created for the lobby of our library.

Although we are a smaller branch, and don’t always have challenged materials on hand to feature, I was asked to create a display to promote awareness. I knew right away I wanted to make a big impact in our beautiful windowed lobby for all to see. And what better way to represent Banned Books Week than with a book burning? Kidding, of course, but I did want to make a similar statement with this display.
